The CW aired all-new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural on Thursday, October 2, 2008. For the night the network averaged 2.4/4 in households/ratings share and a 1.5 in the adults 18-49 demo. This average is the same as this time last year, also.
At 8/7c was an all-new Smallville (”Toxic”). [HH: 2.5/4, #12; A18-49: 1.6, #12; 3,950,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Smallville (”Plastique) on Thursday, September 25, 2008. [HH: 2.7/4, #14; A18-49: 1.7, #14; 4,180,000 viewers]
At 9/8c was an all-new Supernatural (”In The Beginning”). [HH: 2.4/4, #13; A18-49: 1.5, #T13; 3,570,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Supernatural (”Are You There God? It’s Me, Dean Winchester”) on Thursday, September 25, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #15; A18-49: 1.3, #15; 3,180,000 viewers]
Smallville is crashing a little too fast. It is not cause for concern-yet.

The title says it all, I just wanted to make sure I got it all in there to avoid any confusion. This is just a one shot deal, Privileged is not replacing One Tree Hill. This Monday both Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill are scheduled to have repeats, but now instead of repeating One Tree Hill (which does poorly in repeats), the network is going to try and run a repeat of Privileged to try and get the show more exposure.
Good news! CW isn’t giving up on Privileged just yet.

The CW aired its (personally) annoying mixture of an all-new America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.0/3 household/share rating and a 1.4 in adults 18-49 demo.
At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”Natural Beauty”). [HH: 2.7/5, #13; A18-49: 1.9, #12; 4,010,000 viewers]
-
- Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”Fierce Eyes”) on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. [HH: 2.8/5, #12; A18-49: 2.1, #T10; 4,070,000 viewers]
At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”Model Behavior”). [HH: 1.3/2, #15; A18-49: 0.9, #15; 1,730,000 viewers]
-
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”) on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.2, #14; 2,340,000 viewers]
I have vented enough about the CW’s Wednesday line-up. This Wednesday night’s results only reinforce my feelings about it.

The CW aired its combo of 90210 and Privileged on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 1.8/3 household/share rating and a 1.3 in adults 18-49 demo, and although this is an improvement over last week, it is still nothing to boast about.
At 8/7c was an all-new episode of 90210 (”Model Behavior”). [HH: 2.2/4, #11; A18-49: 1.6, #11; 3,190,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”) on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #10; A18-49: 1.5, #10; 2,960,000 viewers]
And at 9/8c was an all-new Privileged (”All About The Power Position”). [HH: 1.3/2, #12; A18-49: 0.9, #12; 1,880,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Privileged (”All About What You Really, Really Want”) on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. [HH: 1.3/3, #11; A18-49: 0.9, #11; 1,860,000 viewers]
The CW put a lot on 90210 and therefore thought it could only help newcomer Privileged. However, 90210 is not helping Privileged. CW needs to try the show on another night.

Yes it’s true, the CW has ordered a pilot about Robin before he became Batman’s sidekick called The Graysons. I love the CW, but, um, desperate much? Trying to fill a Smallville void at all?
Yes they are actually. And Smallville producers along with Supernatural producers are behind the project.
I’ll stop judging. It might actually be good.
It’s said if picked up The Graysons would either take over Smallville’s timeslot or if Smallville continues for another season it would take over Supernatural’s timeslot.
Yay finally, Supernatural might be able to build an audience out of the death slot!! The full article is after the jump.

On Monday, September 29, 2008 the CW continued to soar with its highly compatible duo Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.
At 8/7c was an all-new Gossip Girl (”The Serena Also Rises”). [A18-49: 1.9, #T13; 3,540,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Gossip Girl (”The Ex-Files”) on Monday, September 22, 2008. [HH: 2.3/3, #13; A18-49: 1.6, #13; 3,350,000 viewers]
And at 9/8c was a new episode of One Tree Hill (”You’ve Dug Your Own Grave, Now Lie In It”), which has not had demos this high in nearly two years! [A18-49: 1.9, #T13; 3,420,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of One Tree Hill (”Bridge Over Troubled Waters”) on Monday, September 22, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #14; A18-49: 1.5, #14; 3,100,00 viewers]
Another great night of teen drama for the CW. I feel personally that not having an all-new episode is going to hurt this stride of ratings, but we’ll have to see.

Unfortunately, you’ll see this from time to time. I try my best to keep this blog up to date, but sometimes things just happen that I get behind. So instead of dreading getting back to blogging because I have hours of blogs to catch up on, I’ll just post a quick catch-up.

Friday, September 26, 2008 the CW aired its final Friday Night Smackdown (“Episode 474″) [A18-49: 1.4, #T9; 4,410,000 viewers].

The CW aired its mix of an all-new America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore of 90210 last night on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.1/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo.
At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”Fierce Eyes”). [HH: 2.8/5, #12; A18-49: 2.1, #T10; 4,070,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”You’re Beautiful, Now Change”) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. [HH: 2.9/5, #11; A18-49: 2.1, #T5; 4,240,000 viewers]
At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”). [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.2, #14; 2,340,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”The Bubble”) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.1, #14; 1,990,000 viewers]
America’s Next Top Model held its own, as always, against a very competitive night. Even the 90210 encore seemed to be uneffected by the competition. However, I still say its a waste of a lead-in. People know 90210 is on, people know 90210 is there. They just don’t care. How about promoting some of your other shows CW?

The CW is expanding its business with Reaper producer, ABC Studios.
The network has handed a put pilot commitment to Light Years, a family dramedy penned by Liz Tigelaar (What About Brian).
Gary Fleder is attached to direct the project, which centers on a smart, sassy 15-year-old girl who, seeking emancipation after growing up in foster homes, tracks down her parents who had given her up for adoption when their one-night stand in high school resulted in pregnancy.
She connects with her birth mom, a morning radio show host with commitment-phobia, and dad, an immature bar owner, and the trio forms a modern-day “It Takes a Village”-type family.
