The CW aired its (personally) annoying mixture of an all-new America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.0/3 household/share rating and a 1.4 in adults 18-49 demo.
At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”Natural Beauty”). [HH: 2.7/5, #13; A18-49: 1.9, #12; 4,010,000 viewers]
-
- Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”Fierce Eyes”) on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. [HH: 2.8/5, #12; A18-49: 2.1, #T10; 4,070,000 viewers]
At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”Model Behavior”). [HH: 1.3/2, #15; A18-49: 0.9, #15; 1,730,000 viewers]
-
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”) on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.2, #14; 2,340,000 viewers]
I have vented enough about the CW’s Wednesday line-up. This Wednesday night’s results only reinforce my feelings about it.

The CW aired its combo of 90210 and Privileged on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 1.8/3 household/share rating and a 1.3 in adults 18-49 demo, and although this is an improvement over last week, it is still nothing to boast about.
At 8/7c was an all-new episode of 90210 (”Model Behavior”). [HH: 2.2/4, #11; A18-49: 1.6, #11; 3,190,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”) on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #10; A18-49: 1.5, #10; 2,960,000 viewers]
And at 9/8c was an all-new Privileged (”All About The Power Position”). [HH: 1.3/2, #12; A18-49: 0.9, #12; 1,880,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Privileged (”All About What You Really, Really Want”) on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. [HH: 1.3/3, #11; A18-49: 0.9, #11; 1,860,000 viewers]
The CW put a lot on 90210 and therefore thought it could only help newcomer Privileged. However, 90210 is not helping Privileged. CW needs to try the show on another night.

The CW aired its mix of an all-new America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore of 90210 last night on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.1/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo.

At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”). [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.2, #14; 2,340,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”The Bubble”) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.1, #14; 1,990,000 viewers]
America’s Next Top Model held its own, as always, against a very competitive night. Even the 90210 encore seemed to be uneffected by the competition. However, I still say its a waste of a lead-in. People know 90210 is on, people know 90210 is there. They just don’t care. How about promoting some of your other shows CW?

The CW aired all-new episodes of 90210 and Privileged last night on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 1.7/3 household/share rating and a 1.2 in adults 18-49 demo.
Comparably, on this night of last year the CW averaged 2.0/3 household/share rating and a 1.5 in adults 18-49 demo with then qualified as low-rated Beauty And The Geek and Reaper.
At 8/7c was an all-new episode of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”). [HH: 2.1/3, #10; A18-49: 1.5, #10; 2,960,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (”The Bubble”) on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. [HH: 2.4/4, #10; A18-49: 1.8, #T8; 3,330,000 viewers]
And at 9/8c was an all-new Privileged (”All About What You Really, Really Want”). [HH: 1.3/2, #11; A18-49: 0.9, #11; 1,860,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Privileged (”All About Honesty”) on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. [HH: 1.8/3, #11; A18-49: 1.1, #11; 2,430,000 viewers]
Where do I begin? How about with noting that both shows hit series lows last night. Second it is worth noting what is already stated above, 90210 couldn’t crack 3 million and Privileged couldn’t crack 2 million. It’s time for the CW to do some damage control. Especially considering that 1 year ago their ratings were higher than now, when they are trying to improve on their ratings from last year. Ouch.
It’s a shame too. Privileged was really good. See my post. As for 90210, yeah I was rooting for it in the beginning, but they already ruined their potential fanbase with the horrible 2nd and 3rd episodes. So now they are going to have to start all over again.

This should come as no surprise. 90210 has officially been picked up for a full season and becomes the first series of the new season to get a full season pickup.

The CW aired its milestone makeover episode of America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 last night on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.2/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo, beating ABC in the adults 18-49 demo.
At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”You’re Beautiful, Now Change”). [HH: 2.9/5, #11; A18-49: 2.1, #T5; 4,240,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”The Ladder of Model Success”) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. [HH: 2.6/5, #11; A18-49: 2.0, #T5; 3,840,000 viewers]
At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”The Bubble”). [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.1, #14; 1,990,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of 90210 (“Lucky Strike”) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. [HH: 1.6/3, #13; A18-49: 1.2, #13; 2,290,000 viewers]
America’s Next Top Model broke the 4 million mark sooner than I expected (I thought for sure it would stay about at last week’s level until the finale), but the show is still down a hefty million viewers at this time compared to last year.
As for 90210, sure for CW standards that is good repeat numbers, especially considering it beat the all-new Privileged in the demo. However, it lost more than half of its lead-in audience. Am I the only one who thinks giving 90210 the post America’s Next Top Model timeslot is a waste?

The CW aired all-new episodes of 90210 and Privileged on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.0/3 household/share rating and a 1.4 in adults 18-49 demo.
At 8/7c was an all-new episode of 90210 (”The Bubble”). [HH: 2.4/4, #10; A18-49: 1.8, #T8; 3,330,000 viewers]

And at 9/8c was an all-new Privileged (”All About Honesty”). [HH: 1.8/3, #11; A18-49: 1.1, #11; 2,430,000 viewers]
- Last week comparison of Privileged (“Pilot”) on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #11; A18-49: 1.3, #11; 2,640,000 viewers]
Although the CW is officially claiming 90210 rebounding from its second week’s lows, I still expected better. A lot better. There is no reason that if the show was really good that it should not be able to keep in the 2s for the demo. I mean, it was beaten by Gossip Girl and tied with One Tree Hill this week. Ouch for a show that took up nearly all of the CW’s advertising budget. As for Privileged, I enjoy the show, but others obviously are not.

The CW aired another episode of the 11th cycle of America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.1/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo.

- Last on comparison of America’s Next Top Model (””The Notorious Fierce Fourteen”/”Top Model Inaguration””) on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. [HH: 2.4/4; A18-49: 1.7; 3,510,000 viewers]

I guess the CW was smart in holding off Stylista until America’s Next Top Model crowd returned. The series experienced a nice rebound this week. 90210 did well as a repeat. However, it still lost a large chunk of its lead in’s audience. And may I ask why Privileged did not get an encore telecast?
