I have vented enough about the CW’s Wednesday line-up. This Wednesday night’s results only reinforce my feelings about it.

CW Ratings Catch-Up for September 25-28, 2008

September 30, 2008

Unfortunately, you’ll see this from time to time. I try my best to keep this blog up to date, but sometimes things just happen that I get behind. So instead of dreading getting back to blogging because I have hours of blogs to catch up on, I’ll just post a quick catch-up.

Friday, September 26, 2008 the CW aired its final Friday Night Smackdown (“Episode 474″) [A18-49: 1.4, #T9; 4,410,000 viewers].

Sunday, September 28, 2008 the CW aired a night full of repeats including One Tree Hill (“Bridge Over Troubled Waters”) [HH: 0.9/2, #T20; A18-49: 0.6, #T20; 1,370,000 viewers], Privileged (“All About What You Really, Really Want”) [HH: 0.9/1, #T20; A18-49: 0.6, #T20; 1,220,000 viewers], and America’s Next Top Model (“Fierce Eyes”) [HH: 1.0/2, #19; A18-49: 0.7, #19; 1,440,000 viewers].

CW Ratings for Wednesday, September 24, 2008

September 25, 2008

The CW aired its mix of an all-new America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore of 90210 last night on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.1/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo.

At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”Fierce Eyes”). [HH: 2.8/5, #12; A18-49: 2.1, #T10; 4,070,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”You’re Beautiful, Now Change”) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. [HH: 2.9/5, #11; A18-49: 2.1, #T5; 4,240,000 viewers]

At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”Wide Awake And Dreaming”). [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.2, #14; 2,340,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of 90210 (”The Bubble”) on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.1, #14; 1,990,000 viewers]

America’s Next Top Model held its own, as always, against a very competitive night. Even the 90210 encore seemed to be uneffected by the competition. However, I still say its a waste of a lead-in. People know 90210 is on, people know 90210 is there. They just don’t care. How about promoting some of your other shows CW?

CW Ratings for Sunday, September 21, 2008

September 23, 2008

The CW reverted back to its typical low-rated Sunday last night on Sunday, September 21, 2008. The network aired an encore of last week’s One Tree Hill, an encore of the last week’s Privileged, and finally an encore of last week’s America’s Next Top Model. For the night the CW averaged 1.0/2 household/share rating and a 0.6 in adults 18-49 demo.

At 7/6c was an encore episode of last Monday’s One Tree Hill (”Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly”). [HH: 0.9/2, #22; A18-49: 0.5, #22]

  • Last week comparison of One Tree Hill (”One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Morning”) on Sunday, September 14, 2008. [HH: 0.9/2, #22; A18-49: 0.5, #22]

At 8/7c was an encore of the series premiere of the new series Privileged (”All About Honesty”). [HH: 1.3/2, #21; A18-49: 0.9, #21; 2,010,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of Privileged (”Pilot”) on Sunday, September 14, 2008. [HH: 1.3/2, #21; A18-49: 0.9, #21; 2,010,000 viewers]

And finally At 9/8c was an encore of America’s Next Top Model (”You’re Beautiful, Now Change”). [HH: 1.8/3, #20; A18-49: 1.2, #20; 2,730,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (The Ladder of Model Success”) on Sunday, September 14, 2008. [HH: 1.8/3, #20; A18-49: 1.2, #20; 2,730,000 viewers]

Nothing good lasts forever right? I suspect the CW will have a big dip in ratings this week as the big 4 broadcast networks bring out their new and returning shows.

CW Ratings for Wednesday, September 17, 2008

September 18, 2008

The CW aired its milestone makeover episode of America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 last night on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.2/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo, beating ABC in the adults 18-49 demo.

At 8/7c was the all-new episode of America’s Next Top Model (”You’re Beautiful, Now Change”). [HH: 2.9/5, #11; A18-49: 2.1, #T5; 4,240,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”The Ladder of Model Success”) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. [HH: 2.6/5, #11; A18-49: 2.0, #T5; 3,840,000 viewers]

At 9/8c was an encore of Tuesday’s night episode of 90210 (”The Bubble”). [HH: 1.6/2, #14; A18-49: 1.1, #14; 1,990,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of 90210 (“Lucky Strike”) on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. [HH: 1.6/3, #13; A18-49: 1.2, #13; 2,290,000 viewers]

America’s Next Top Model broke the 4 million mark sooner than I expected (I thought for sure it would stay about at last week’s level until the finale), but the show is still down a hefty million viewers at this time compared to last year.

As for 90210, sure for CW standards that is good repeat numbers, especially considering it beat the all-new Privileged in the demo. However, it lost more than half of its lead-in audience. Am I the only one who thinks giving 90210 the post America’s Next Top Model timeslot is a waste?

And finally At 9/8c was an encore of America’s Next Top Model (”The Ladder of Model Success”). [HH: 1.8/3, #20; A18-49: 1.2, #20; 2,730,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of America’s Next Top Model (”The Notorious Fierce Fourteen”/”Top Model Inaguration”) on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 8/7c to 9/7c. [HH: 1.3/2, #17; A18-49: 0.7, #17; 1,770,000 viewers]

I’m not going to even lie. I had a dream last night that the CW averaged over 4,000,000 viewers for the night. That is how crazily obsessed I am with this network’s ratings.

Although it is not 4,000,000 viewers, the network continued to surpass expectations for its Sunday night lineup for the second week in a row. Congrats!

CW Ratings for Wednesday, September 10, 2008

September 12, 2008

The CW aired another episode of the 11th cycle of America’s Next Top Model followed by an encore telecast of 90210 on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. For the night the CW averaged 2.1/3 household/share rating and a 1.6 in adults 18-49 demo.

At 8/7c was the second week but third episode episode of America’s Next Top Model (”The Ladder of Model Success”). [HH: 2.6/5, #11; A18-49: 2.0, #T5; 3,840,000 viewers]

  • Last on comparison of America’s Next Top Model (””The Notorious Fierce Fourteen”/”Top Model Inaguration””) on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. [HH: 2.4/4; A18-49: 1.7; 3,510,000 viewers]

At 9/8c was the first of six special encore telecasts of 90210 (”Lucky Strike”). [HH: 1.6/3, #13; A18-49: 1.2, #13; 2,290,000 viewers]

I guess the CW was smart in holding off Stylista until America’s Next Top Model crowd returned. The series experienced a nice rebound this week. 90210 did well as a repeat. However, it still lost a large chunk of its lead in’s audience. And may I ask why Privileged did not get an encore telecast?

CW Ratings for Sunday, September 7, 2008

September 12, 2008

The CW had an above average night on Sunday, September 7, 2008 with encores of the season premiere of One Tree Hill and America’s Next Top Model.

At 7/6c was a repeat of the season premiere of One Tree Hill (“Touch Me I’m Going To Scream”). [HH: 1.0/2, #19; A18-49: 0.6, #T18; 1,270,000 viewers]

At 8/7c through 9/8c was a repeat of the season premiere of America’s Next Top Model (”The Notorious Fierce Fourteen”/”Top Model Inaguration”). [HH: 1.3/2, #17; A18-49: 0.7, #17; 1,770,000 viewers]

As I stated earlier this was an above average night for a Sunday night on the CW. They should be pleased.
