CW To Repeat “Privileged” Instead Of Repeat “One Tree Hill” This Monday

October 3, 2008

The title says it all, I just wanted to make sure I got it all in there to avoid any confusion. This is just a one shot deal, Privileged is not replacing One Tree Hill. This Monday both Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill are scheduled to have repeats, but now instead of repeating One Tree Hill (which does poorly in repeats), the network is going to try and run a repeat of Privileged to try and get the show more exposure.

Good news! CW isn’t giving up on Privileged just yet.

CW Ratings for Monday, September 29, 2008

October 1, 2008

On Monday, September 29, 2008 the CW continued to soar with its highly compatible duo Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.

At 8/7c was an all-new Gossip Girl (”The Serena Also Rises”). [A18-49: 1.9, #T13; 3,540,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of Gossip Girl (”The Ex-Files”) on Monday, September 22, 2008. [HH: 2.3/3, #13; A18-49: 1.6, #13; 3,350,000 viewers]

And at 9/8c was a new episode of One Tree Hill (”You’ve Dug Your Own Grave, Now Lie In It”), which has not had demos this high in nearly two years! [A18-49: 1.9, #T13; 3,420,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of One Tree Hill (”Bridge Over Troubled Waters”) on Monday, September 22, 2008. [HH: 2.1/3, #14; A18-49: 1.5, #14; 3,100,00 viewers]

Another great night of teen drama for the CW. I feel personally that not having an all-new episode is going to hurt this stride of ratings, but we’ll have to see.

September 23, 2008

Last night, Monday, September 22, 2008, marked the official beginning of the 2008-2009 television season. And good news, the CW held up with previous Monday nights with its perfect (yes, I’m now calling it perfect) combination of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. For the night the network averaged 2.2/3 in the households/share rating and a whopping 1.5 in the coveted adults 18-49 demo.

At 8/7c was an all-new Gossip Girl (”The Ex-Files”), which saw series highs last night. [HH: 2.3/3, #13; A18-49: 1.6, #13; 3,350,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of Gossip Girl (”The Dark Knight”) on Monday, September 15, 2008. [HH: 2.6/4, #12; A18-49: 1.9, #T7; 3,730,000 viewers]

And at 9/8c was a new episode of One Tree Hill (”Bridge Over Troubled Waters”). [HH: 2.1/3, #14; A18-49: 1.5, #14; 3,100,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of One Tree Hill (”Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly”) on Monday, September 15, 2008. [HH: 2.3/3, #13; A18-49: 1.8, #T11; 3,350,00 viewers]

I am very pleased, and frankly surprised, with the CW’s performance last night. I thought for sure we’d see both Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill in the 2-2.5 million viewers range last night but both programs exceeded my expectations and even up against a night pact full of premieres Gossip Girl managed to beat every episode of its first season in the adults 18-49 demo, with the exception of the series premiere.

CW Ratings for Monday, September 15, 2008

September 16, 2008

The CW had a fantastic night on Monday, September 15, 2008 with its nearly perfect combination of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. For the night the network averaged 2.4/4 in the households/share rating and a whopping 1.8 in the coveted adults 18-49 demo. The network also beat NBC for the night in the demo.

At 8/7c was the buzz teen drama Gossip Girl (“The Dark Knight”), which saw series highs last night. [HH: 2.6/4, #12; A18-49: 1.9, #T7; 3,730,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of Gossip Girl (“Never Been Marcused”) on Monday, September 8, 2008. [HH: 2.2/3, #T13; A18-49: 1.6, #13; 3,160,000 viewers]

And at 9/8c was another great episode of One Tree Hill (“Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly”), which has not seen numbers this high since December 6, 2006. [HH: 2.3/3, #13; A18-49: 1.8, #11; 3,350,000 viewers]

  • Last week comparison of One Tree Hill (“One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Morning”) on Monday, September 8, 2008. [HH: 2.2/3, #13; A18-49: 1.7, #T11; 3,250,00 viewers]

The CW has broken its own Monday night records for three weeks in a row now. Gossip Girl is finally providing healthy numbers and in its sixth year One Tree Hill shows no signs of stopping. I’m sure the suits at the CW could not be happier with last night’s results.
